Facebook Fan Pages for Real Estate | Real Estate and Social Media ...

31st May 2011 ()

We at REIC read Brains on Fire over the weekend and picked out a few nuggets that real estate and social media professionals can use right away when thinking about how you connect with your customers.

Here are 4 lessons you can use today to rethink how you portray yourself as an agent.

1. ?Find the passion you share with your customers, and support it.? ? For REIC, our passion is helping REALTORS build a sustainable business. As an agent, is their a passion you share with your customers that you can help them support?

2. ?Want your ideas and creative concepts to see the light of day? Then don?t start with the customer ?in mind?, but actually?with the customer.? ? Have you ever asked people what they want in their agent? Instead of telling everyone how great our ideas are, maybe we should just be what they need us to be.

3. ?Your identity is so much more personal than your brand.? - Each one of you has an identity that is unique. Do you share it with your customers? Your passion will help them identify with you.

4. ?You build around commonality. If it?s real people and real communities, then it?s valuable. Otherwise it?s just playing around online.? - Our advice is to not spend significant time on social networks for business unless you are spending that time improving the relationships you already have. In real estate and in most businesses, online supports offline?it doesn?t replace it.
